Vampire Romance

I have been thinking about writing a Vampire Romance...

I asked for some advice on the Writing Forums.


I am looking for ways to go about making it sound nothing like the sparkly Twilight. Please leave a comment with your ideas for me.

    Here's an idea: make the vampire an evil, manipulative, blood-sucking fiend. If he's classically charming and gallant to boot, it's only for reasons that are completely self-serving. That's my take on vampires, anyway. They're villains.

    Methinks that just observing that single tradition alone could make for a pretty interesting attempt at a romance plot, and there are at least a handful of ways one could go about it.
